The objects of the investigation are administrative records from Girsu (Telloh) in which the names dšára-à -sa6 and ur-ba-gára occur. The records are analysed in respect to their contents, prosopographic and other indicators. The arguments that result from the analysis enable us to distinguish the character of the records methodically from earlier, later and contemporary similar sets of records.
