Text â€" Textgeschichte AOAT 419 Festschrift zum 65. Geburtstag von Siegfried Kreuzer

This volume is dedicated to Siegfried Kreuzer by his pupils and colleagues in honour of his 65th birthday. The thematic range of the present volume reflects Siegfried Kreuzer"s impact in the field of Old Testament studies and his activities at the university. The book is divided into three parts: texts, the history of texts, and the influence of texts. In the first section, the creation history and theological meanings of texts are considered. Aspects of history, literary history, and theology are all central to the research presented in this section. The second section of the book spans the breadth of text historical research. Alongside investigations of single texts, articles concerning methodological questions that demonstrate the ongoing development of research in this field are also included. Subject matter covered in this section ranges over the whole field of present research, from Septuagint studies to studies on the meaning of Qumran manuscripts and concluding with an investigation of Masoretic work on Hebrew texts. The third section of the volume is dedicated to aspects of the history of reception of Old Testament texts in the New Testament, in the history of the church, and in more recent literature. Finally, questions regarding the adoption of these texts in religious education and in church services are considered, while one article investigates the relationship between biblical tradition and scientific interpretation of earthly relationships and another discusses the recent (religio-)political meaning of Old Testament texts.
