Agyptische und agyptisierende - AOAT 47 Inschriftenfunde, Flaschen, LÃ ffel
E. Fischer examines ivories found in Megiddo and Lachish which had been imported from Egypt or had been influenced by Egyptian style. The first part is devoted to the findspots of the objects and to questions of the material used, especially the differentiation between "ivory" taken from the elephant and from the hippopotamus. The focus of the second part is on the pen cases and panels, horn-shaped and woman-shaped flasks, and swimming-girl spoons and bowls, their "sitz im leben", their decoration as well as the representation of such objects on other archaeological finds. The study is supplemented by 138 plates with many illustrations of the objects themselves as well as of comparable objects found in the Levant and in Egypt. Bookseller Inventory # FISAGYPTI
